My Twin Cities Top 5 to Do
When I was slightly taller than an average carryon, I pronounced the word ‘suitcase’ as ‘snootcase.’ My family jokes that my suitcase is always packed. Travel satiates my wanderlust and curiosity and refills my personal and creative well.
I moved to Minnesota several years ago. In that time I’ve been exploring parks, prairie, small towns, big cities, festivals, landmarks, and the unordinary. If you come to Minnesota chances are you will be flying into the Minneapolis/St. Paul (MSP), aka the Twin Cities, airport. Minnesota State Parks--May in Maplewood.
Last winter during the third blizzard of the season, my cabin fever pushed me to purchase my state park pass early—the date was April 1st. Next, I decided it would be the summer to visit as many Minnesota state parks as possible.
In May, I visited Maplewood State Park which located in western MN and 40ish minutes East of Fargo, N.D. The trees overhead were full and healthy and mellowed the sunshine’s rays as I hiked on the North Country Trail, it didn’t rain, and the campgrounds were quiet. A good start towards my MN State Parks goal.
