✈ Smile & bow your head when saying please (Silikan) & thank you (Suksema)
✈ Learn everyday greetings as the Balinese people will appreciate it--Selamat pagi (Good morning: sunrise - 11 am), Selamat Siang (Good late morning: 11 am - 2 pm), Selamat sore (Good afternoon: 2 pm - sunset) & Selamat malam (Good night: sunset- sunrise)
✈ Look where you walk--don’t step on the offerings
✈ Island time exists so if your activity, taxi, or whatever is delayed be patient & enjoy the extra minutes
✈ Drink/use bottled water & skip the ice unless you can verify filtered water was used—avoid Bali Belly
✈ When visiting a temple cover your shoulders & if required wear temple dress--this may include a sarong & sash (Sometimes these can be rented at the temples.)
✈ Tipping is a delicate balance between appreciation & perception—it’s more respectful to not overtip
✈ Have small currency available for admission to temples, rice terraces, waterfalls, & other points of local interest
