🗺Hiking In🥾

~Park & Playlist Pass~

The Hiking In settings are in Minnesota, Alaska, Yukon, and British Columbia.

The following parks helped inspire April’s practice parks.

Plus, if there was a Hiking In soundtrack, the Spotify playlist below might be it!

Enjoy!

Winding River State Park = Interstate Park & Banning State Park🏕

Interstate overlooks the St. Croix River and into western Wisconsin. Banning has cozy trails and the Kettle River,

🍁Blue Pond State Park = Itasca state park

The headwaters of the Mississippi River begin in Itasca. This park is a favorite all-year playground: hiking, paddling, skiing & a climbable fire tower that allows bird-eye views.

County Park = Lebanon Hills Regional Park🎒

This is a quick drive from the Twin Cities with flatter trails, ponds & unique footbridges.

🌾Grand Oaks State Park = Afton State Park

Cliff and ravine views of the St. Croix River and open prairie with seasonal wildflowers.

April, Lauren & Lauren’s family camping trip = Nerstrand Big Woods State

Day hikes for many different hiking levels, inter-connected campgrounds & butterflies in the summer.🦋

💦Staircase Falls State Park = Gooseberry Falls State Park

Waterfalls, gorges, rivers, streams, trickles & trails.

🌲Northwoods = Middle to northbound section of the Superior Hiking TraiL🍄

The Superior Hiking Trail is a 310-mile trail that crosses multiple state parks and ends (or starts if you’re headed southbound) near the Canada-Minnesota (U.S.) border.

(I’ve hiked over half of the trail and will hike more sections in fall 2020.)

*The majority of my 2012 Chilkoot Trail & Skagway pics were lost via out-dated digital storage.🏔 I road-tripped from Seattle, WA to Anchorage, AK in 2018 and stopped in Whitehorse, Yukon for lunch. That pic is included on the Hiking In book page.

I found the below image in an email I had sent to a family member. It’s looking back at Alaska after climbing the Golden Stairs.

These are my

Chilkoot Trail boots.

I wear trail runners when I hike now. For various sentimental reasons, I have kept these shoes.

Enjoy some Chilkoot Trail & travel music! 🎶
